Scripture study was the focus of two quotes I heard shared today (from a friend, and a home teacher):
Pondering a passage of scripture can be a key to unlock revelation and the guidance and inspiration of the Holy Ghost. Scriptures can calm an agitated soul, giving peace, hope, and a restoration of confidence in one’s ability to overcome the challenges of life. They have potent power to heal emotional challenges when there is faith in the Savior. They can accelerate physical healing. (Richard G. Scott, The Power of Scripture)
Among the most effective ways to gain and keep the faith we need today is to read and study the scriptures and to pray frequently and consistently. To the youth of the Church, I say, if you haven’t done so, develop now a habit of daily scripture study and prayer. Without these two essential practices, outside influences and the sometimes-harsh realities of life can dim or even extinguish your light. (Thomas S. Monson, Stand as a Light)
These are all blessings I want and need in my life! I heard HWN today through these reminders of the power of scripture study :)
p.s. Benjamin and enjoyed a couple hours driving the Alpine loop and sharing embarrassing stories from our youth this afternoon (The things we did as kids for an adrenaline rush… sheesh!)
