Have Faith and Hula Hoop

Sometimes I’ve felt like I need to pinpoint an instance where my faith originated or a circumstance that convinced me of the reality of God.  This came to mind as “gaining a testimony” was a topic in sacrament meeting today.  This quote from Elder Bednar comes to mind:

Most frequently, revelation comes in small increments over time and is granted according to our desire, worthiness, and preparation. Such communications from Heavenly Father gradually and gently “distil upon [our souls] as the dews from heaven” (D&C 121:45).

He goes on to compare revelation to light — it can come quickly, as when you flip a light switch, or gradually, almost imperceptibly, like the sunrise.  My faith has developed more like the sunrise.

I heard HWN today through this principle that helps me understand myself more :)

p.s. Here’s the metaphor in Elder Bednar’s own words, some documentation of today’s hula hoop war, and a rainbow I saw while feeding the ducks today!
