I shared this quote in a couple days ago, and here it is again :)
“Paradoxically, in order to have a healed and faithful heart, we must first allow it to break before the Lord.” (Neill F. Marriott)
I have experience with heartbreak in general, and I’m understanding more what allowing my heart to break before the Lord means. I pondered this during tonight’s YSA Devotional with Elder M. Russell Ballard. Here’s what I learned (my HWN today):
- Heartbreak usually happens from losing something of value
- I value some parts of my self that I need to lose
- When I choose to lose these, because of my love for Heavenly Father, my heart will hurt
- Over time my heart will break before the Lord
Also, BYU’s 70-6 win over Wagner was fun and tough to watch at the same time.
And I thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful weather this afternoon :) Sat on campus with this view for about a half hour…
