I attended a banquet tonight for work where Marshall McDonald performed. These were his original songs he shared (sorrow for the background noise, he performed during our dessert):
Oh come, oh come, Emanuel
If you could hie to Kolob
What great songs to listen to with these views out the window!
He also shared some insights and his testimony, and a particular scripture stuck out to me. When Joseph Smith was preparing to receive the gold plates, he was told:
“I must have no other object in view in getting the plates but to glorify God, and must not be influenced by any other motive than that of building his kingdom.” (Joseph Smith — History 1:46)
I heard HWN today in this reminder that I would like to have the same object in view for all that I do!
p.s. I also had a wonderful time catching up with my friend Graden up in Salt Lake tonight — I’m blessed to have him as a friend :)
p.p.s. I’ve been staying at the Hyatt House in downtown Salt Lake during my training. (Un)fortunately when I checked in they had run out of the usual rooms for our discounted group rate, and I had to be upgraded to a suite! I haven’t stayed in a ton of hotels, but this is definitely one of the nicest :)
p.p.p.s. If you’re wondering who Marshall McDonald is, you may recognize him by this song from Christmas last year (he composed the music!):

Zac, Thanks for sharing this. These are two of my favorite songs. Both of them at separate times have brought me closer to Heavenly Father and strengthened my life.
Thanks for sharing Rex, I’m glad to hear it :)
