I’ve pondered on hope the last couple days and realized more about the role of agency in hope. When Christ was on the cross, He prayed for the people who were crucifying him:
“Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.” (Luke 23:34)
I’m impressed with Christ’s hope for those who hated Him. Somehow, he was able to choose to hope for them, in spite of evidence that seemed to indicate they were past hoping for. I’m trying to choose to hope more like Him, especially at times when hoping can be tough! I also recognize that hope is a gift from Heavenly Father, and part of receiving that gift is manifest in our agency. I’m so grateful for the Lord’s patience in helping me as I learn to receive hope :)
Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. (Romans 15:13)
My HWN over the past couple days came from pondering hope :) as well as from vulnerable conversation with good friends. It’s liberating to be able to share vulnerable things and feel heard and validated. It’s also an honor when people share personal feelings and experiences with me!
Also here are a couple pictures I got recently of the Provo City Center Temple :)
