“Returning from our earth to life in our heavenly home requires passage through — and not around — the doors of death. We were born to die, and we die to live. As seedlings of God, we barely blossom on earth; we fully flower in heaven.” (Doors of Death, Elder Nelson)
I felt this truth at my great Aunt Doris’s funeral this afternoon (obituary here). I’m grateful for the knowledge that families and progression can be eternal!
I heard HWN today through the hope that comes through the plan of salvation!
Some pics from the funeral…
The funeral program:
A picture of my car — I bought it from Aunt Doris about 6 years ago, and she told me “I’ll use this money for my casket!” ;)
I love listening to Grandpa’s stories. Here’s one about his first date!

A couple of the songs sung at Doris’s funeral, she requested lots of music :)
Shelly, Linda, Ann, Sheri, and Cathie (5 of Demar’s 6 daughter’s, Doris’s nieces) singing In the Garden
Leisa and Richard Higbee (Doris’s grandchildren) singing There is a Savior
p.s. I also got to have dinner Russell Michael (one of my best friends — moved back to Utah after a few years in Texas) and his wife Molly, as well as President and Sister Thompson from our mission :)
