At work I deal with sexual abuse and sexual addictions, and two things impressed me today…

First, hearing about the abuse that takes place in our world helps me understand how highly the Lord values agency. He values it enough to allow his children to be violated in ways with extreme, pervasive, and lasting impact. And this in turn causes Him infinitely more pain and sorrow than we can understand!

Second, this scripture popped into my mind today:

“Unto Adam, and also unto his wife, did I, the Lord God, make coats of skins, and clothed them.” (Moses 4:27)

The first thing Heavenly Father did after Adam and Eve partook of the fruit was to clothe them and cover their nakedness. This, to me, shows us how highly He values the sacredness of sexuality!

I heard HWN today through more understanding of the value and of agency and sexuality.
