All is well

In The Silver Chair (6th book in the Narnia series), when the lives of Prince Rilian, Puddleglum, Eustace, and Jill are threatened, Prince Rilian encourages the others. First:

Aslan will be our good lord, whether he means us to live or die. And all’s one, for that.

And later again:

“Courage, friends,” came Prince Rilian’s voice. “Whether we live or die Aslan will be our good lord.”

The prospect of life or death was one and the same for Rilian when he knew he was following Aslan :) This reminds me of the fourth verse of Come, Come, Ye Saints:

And should we die before our journey’s through,
Happy day! All is well!
We then are free from toil and sorrow, too;
With the just we shall dwell!
But if our lives are spared again
To see the Saints their rest obtain,
Oh, how we’ll make this chorus swell–
All is well! All is well!

My HWN today was this reminder of a main goal in life to follow Christ; and when we do this, other worries, even life or death, are insignificant.
