During scripture study this morning, I read
“…we did put all our seeds into the earth, which we had brought from the land of Jerusalem. And it came to pass that they did grow exceedingly; wherefore, we were blessed in abundance.” (1 Nephi 18:24)
This was after Lehi and his family had just arrived in the promised land. They couldn’t have known how their seeds would do in the new environment, yet they used all they had! And they were blessed exceedingly in their harvest. I was reminded of a quote Elder Holland shared when he visited my mission:
“Faith isn’t faith until you have no more to give.”
At times when I’ve felt I had no more to give, it has been scary yet encouraging, knowing this is where faith lies and where the enabling power of the atonement kicks in.
I heard HWN today during my scripture study and pondering :)
p.s. First double date with my youngest brother Jeremy, lots of fun :) We started with making a baking pizzas
…and finished with Texas hold ’em
