Serendipity

For the first time ever, I caught the train in Orem today. And who do I see as I’m approaching the station? My uncle Clark :) on his way to the airport. Our transit routes diverged after about 1/2 hour, but we had a pleasant and inspiring conversation on the way, centering on this teaching from Joseph Smith:

“When you climb up a ladder, you must begin at the bottom, and ascend step by step, until you arrive at the top; and so it is with the principles of the gospel—you must begin with the first, and go on until you learn all the principles of exaltation. But it will be a great while after you have passed through the veil [died] before you will have learned them. It is not all to be comprehended in this world; it will be a great work to learn our salvation and exaltation even beyond the grave.”

I’m excited for our potential to eternally learn and grow! And I’m grateful for this uplifting way that began my day :)

I heard HWN today in this serendipitous meeting and conversation with my uncle :)

p.s. the picture is me with Clark in Jerusalem 2 years ago — the same place he was headed to this morning :)
