Who really is The Rock?

Who really is The Rock?

The longer I live, the more convinced I am that I’m not a rock.

And the more convinced I am that Christ is :)

And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall.

Helaman 5:12

What convinces me the most is that even when my commitment to Christ wavers, He is still unwaveringly committed to me. He hears and answers my pleadings even when I don’t deserve it.

Christ gives the gift of steadiness.

And that’s the beautiful thing. A gift isn’t something that is deserved or earned — rather it’s based on the kindness and generosity of the giver. And because Christ is a rock, his generosity never fails :)

My recent HWN has been in reflecting on Christs steady presence in my life.

p.s. No bashing on Dwane intended. He is also a very impressive man.
