Bought with a price

A friend asked me today why I decided to go into social work. Part of the reason is how well the professional values align with my own values, including: “dignity and worth of the person” (NASW, Code of Ethics, Preamble)

I heard HWN today as my friend shared her testimony of the inherit worth of individuals, pointing out how we have been “bought” with the ultimate price — Christ’s sacrifice through the atonement. This is a fundamental and powerful principle!

Ye are bought with a price

Any one thing is only worth as much or as little as someone is willing to pay for it, and our price has already been set! There’s nothing we can do to increase or diminish what Christ paid for us.

p.s. I also loved Julie and Kiley’s harmony tonight at our ward FHE! Here’s one of the songs they sang…
