Gain and keep the faith we need

My HWN over the past couple weeks came from the sunday-school answers to life’s questions — particularly prayer, scripture study, and temple attendance.

President Thomas S. Monson counselled;

Remember that faith and doubt cannot exist in the same mind at the same time, for one will dispel the other. I reiterate what we have been told repeatedly—that in order to gain and to keep the faith we need, it is essential that we read and study and ponder the scriptures. Communication with our Heavenly Father through prayer is vital. (“Be an Example of Light,” Oct. 2015)

I’ve seen these principles fulfilled in my life :) receiving personal revelation as I attend the temple, study the scriptures, and pray. And this helps dispel fears from my life. I’ve also seen how it is necessarily a continuous choice. I wish fears could be dispelled once and for all, but they creep back in, and I have to work daily to dispel them. Thank goodness for the tools and promises from our Heavenly Father!

It’s been a couple weeks since I last wrote (perhaps the longest time between 2 posts since I started my blog…), and a lot has happened! Here are some highlights :)

About a week and a half ago, my coworkers convinced me to get a pedicure (for the first time)! It was wonderful :) and I think if they just called it a “foot massage” a lot more men would do it!

I hiked Rock Canyon again with Paul and Heston last weekend. Here’s a beautiful sunset shot I got :)

The beginning of this week, I had a corporate training at the Timbermoose Lodge near Park City. It was an awesome training, and I love the location!

Of course, a major highlight was last night — Danny and Sarah’s wedding reception :) And in fact, I’m on the freeway right now to the San Diego Temple for their sealing :)
