So often in life I worry about the “when”…
Perhaps you can relate to that? Things like… When am I going to get a job? Get married? Have children? Find my purpose in life? Learn to love myself?
…but our Heavenly Parents are more interested in the “that”.
They see a much bigger picture that us. One we really can’t understand.
The Lord seeth fit to chasten his people; yea, he trieth their patience and their faith.
The Lord seeth fit to chasten his people; yea, he trieth their patience and their faith.
Mosiah 23:21
I think our Heavenly Parents’ perspective is like a google maps world view where ours is like the street view.
They want to bless us with the righteous desires of our heart, and They will! But They know the best when, and in their larger perspective the when becomes so much less significant than the that.
After the blessings do come the “when” will no longer matter :)
As blessings ultimately have come in my life, I’ve seen my previous anxieties about the when fade away — because it now made sense where it hadn’t before.
Some blessings haven’t yet come, but I’m learning to know that they will even though I don’t know when.
I take comfort in divine promises
For the eternal purposes of the Lord shall roll on, until all his promises shall be fulfilled.
For the eternal purposes of the Lord shall roll on, until all his promises shall be fulfilled.
Mormon 8:22
I know all divine promise will be fulfilled! Elder Holland knows the same thing :)
There is hope for all of us. There are promises. I don’t know why some blessings come now; some blessings come later; some blessings don’t come until heaven. But they come. Every word that God has ever uttered will be honored and fulfilled. Every word!
My recent HWN has been reflecting on how much more important it is to trust in the that than to know (or worry about) the when.
p.s. I bought a new car!!
p.p.s. My ministering friend Tara got a new puppy!
p.p.p.s. I’m enjoying time with family in California during the Christmas season :)
p.p.p.p.s. Since it’s Christmas tomorrow, I’ll share my favorite rendition of the nativity :) Merry Christmas!
