Today I reflected on some helpful advice from a friend in my profession. He pointed out that if I’m feeling my life would be easier without certain clients on my caseload, it is a likely sign that I’m owning their problems. I recognized some of this in myself this evening.
I began to challenge this by acknowledging that my clients created their own problems and ultimately it’s their responsibility to fix it. It occurred to me that I can also trust Heavenly Father to help them fix it. Novel idea, right?!
If anyone wants us to succeed, it’s Him — probably even more than we want to succeed ourselves. And He knows better than anyone else how to fix problems!
I heard HWN today through this reminder that I don’t have to bear the responsibility of other people’s success or failure!
